Play pc games on android dosbox turbo2/27/2024 You can find all the dos files in a folder wherever you installed the game, you can just copy that to your phone and load up the handy dosbox config file included with the game! I'd say you're better off going with a GOG download than trying to rip the files off cd/floppy media yourself. I am currently playing several games that I ripped from GOG downloads (Master of Magic/Orion). Clicking is kinda clunky, especially if the game requires dragging or right-clicking (or worse, both). Certain games work better in one mode, and other games work better in the other mode. Absolute mode the mouse will follow your finger no matter where it's tapping. Relative mode will show the cursor, and if you swipe up anywhere on the screen, the cursor will go up. DBT offers relative mode and absolute mode. You'll do best to avoid the software keyboard in a real-time game because the keyboard tends to disappear randomly, and you'll have to access a menu to bring it back. Obviously it's harder to do multiple key combinations with this, but DBT offers a menu to setup special combinations. For what it's worth, my 7" tablet is an OK size for tapping I've had some infrequent mistaps.įor software keyboards, I recommend Hacker's Keyboard for the arrow keys and other special keys available. Larger screen is obviously better but beggars can't be choosers. Smaller screens might pose a problem for clicking with the software mouse - clicking on small things will be very difficult if your finger takes up the size of nine tiles. Obviously usb or bluetooth keyboard and mouse is ideal, but the software ones are serviceable. It's plenty fast and stable in my experience. What will happen when you email him with a different problem? Besides, there are a few side-by-side videos out there that support DBT as being the faster emulator anyway, so you're probably better off going with that one. Personally I'm OK with the anti-competitive behavior but lying to customers deters me from supporting him as a developer. He specifically coded his custom keyboard to not work with DosBox Turbo, presumably because he doesn't like competition, then he lied to his customers when they emailed him asking why it wasn't working. Thanks for any help provided!ĮDIT: These are the two I was looking at -įirstly, I must warn you that the developer of AnDOSBox is not very trustworthy. I'll add any additional questions if they come to mind. I'm also wondering if I could get a gog.com version of Dos games to run with an emulator, or if I need to just get the base files or a CD image of the games (I've bought these games many, many times in my life, and don't see an issue with getting the files online somewhere). How does the mouse and keyboard translate into the emulator?ĭo they run well? Is there frequent crashing? How well would this work on a phone screen (Galaxy 3). Has anyone tried playing these or similar RPGs on a Dos emulator and could maybe describe the experience? I'm particularly interested in playing some of my favorite old school RPGs such as Might and Magic: World of Xeen and Wizardy 8: Dark Savant. I've been looking at two of the lead Dos Emulators on the Google Play store, and was wondering if you guys had some feedback.
